Children and adolescents are often helped by using combined individual and family treatment. Children may have problems related to social withdrawal, acting out, overaggressive or anti-social behavior, school adjustment, school achievement, alcohol or drug abuse, developmental disabilities, child abuse and sexual molestation.
Group Psychotherapy
Specialized groups are offered treatment focusing on problems relating to life adjustments, specific syndromes of interpersonal difficulties and addictive disorders.
Pre-Martial, Marital and Divorce Therapies
Specific treatment of couples who are having problems prior to or during marriage, or are contemplating divorce or separation, where one or both individuals are experiencing emotional problems, is a major function of this clinic and includes:

AODA Treatment
Treatment opportunities for persons dealing with effects of drug and alcohol abuse/addictions include both group and individual counseling, education about the disease concept of addictions, introduction to self help groups and after-care groups. We are also an approved Chapter 20 provider for mandated OWI treatment programs.

Fees
Standard Clinic Fee
A standard hourly clinic fee (available upon request) is charged for all services regardless of the number of family members involved. Individuals having health insurance should be aware that since we are a state certifies clinic (Chap. 54), a minimum of $500 - $1,800 of charges for mental health services is normally covered by state mandate. Prairie Counseling Services accepts most insurance, including several HMO's.
Select Reduced Fee Program
The clinic offers a full range of services on a sliding fee scale for those patients with limited financial resources and who lack health insurance coverage for these services. The sliding fee scale is based on income and financial responsibilities.
